Event Description: Enjoy a New Year’s Eve filled with music, dance, and delicious food at Davis Musical Theatre Company’s annual New Years’ Eve Gala on Saturday, December 31, 2016. The gala will feature a preview performance of the tap-filled, Broadway spectacular, “42nd Street”, followed by a buffet dinner at the Jean Henderson Performing Arts Center. Located at 607 Pena Drive in Davis, dinner will begin at 8:00 PM, to be followed by the show and dessert. Dinner includes buffet style salad, bread, coleslaw, chicken breast, vegetarian pasta, vegetables, mashed potatoes, and a tri-tip carving station. For dessert there will be chocolate dipping stations, fruit, and cake. Champagne and sparkling cider will be served as guests dance to a live DJ and count down to 2017. The preview show, 42nd Street, tells the story of Peggy Sawyer, a new arrival to NYC who dreams big. After catching the eye of legendary Broadway director Julian Marsh, Peggy Sawyer joins the chorus of his new show, Pretty Lady. But when the prima donna, Dorothy, takes an instant dislike to her, Broadway’s newest actress is in for trouble. Will Peggy Sawyer rise from the chorus to stardom?
