I used Kyra Lee at Davisville Travel. Most of everything went well, besides the transportation that was included because they left me at the airport. I was waiting for my bags. I had to catch a taxi in Cancun, Mexico, and they wrote me a receipt for $40 dollars however, charged my card $230.47. Kyra Lee said I would get reimbursed and I never did for the $40 dollars. I am still handling the overcharged with my bank. This was in September 2023. Smh!!! Why tell me that and you didn't resolved what happened to me!!

I used davisville travel to fly from San Jose to Tokyo-Narita (through LAX) and then back. The experience of working with davisville was relatively painless, and the flights to Tokyo (SJ, LAX, NRT) went fine, but the flight back to SJ was when things went wrong. When I got to Tokyo-Narita, I realized that the time between my arrival from NRT to LAX only gave me about 20 minutes to get through customs (45 minutes), transfer my bag from customs (15 minutes), go through TSA (30 minutes), then sprint to my flight in the domestic terminal. Obviously, by the time I reached the gate, my flight from LAX to San José had already departed. I had to call Delta to get transferred to a different flight (costing time and money) and deal with ensuring that my luggage was transferred to my new flight. This process was long, stressful, and extremely frustrating.
All of this could've been avoided, had davisville accounted for the fact that I was changing from an international flight and would have to go through customs and immigration, when they scheduled my flight. I don't travel internationally very much, but this should be obvious. In the end, Delta was surprisingly helpful in resolving davisville's scheduling mistakes.
This error was unfortunate, as up until that problem, davisville had been entirely pleasant to deal with, and the hassle of getting tickets was made easier. They also charge a flat fee instead of a commission, so they aren't plagued with the ethical problems of other travel agencies.
Ultimately though, because of the obvious and frustrating scheduling error, I will not use this travel agency again. When I pay people to schedule my flights, I expect them to know more about the travel than I do. Unfortunely, this was not the case in my experience with davisville travel.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

HI K.M.
I have been meaning to get to your concerns for some time now. I apologize for the inconvenience you encountered when traveling internationally. We strive to provide the best customer service which includes providing the best, most logical flights at the best prices. The description you outlined above sounds unfortunate and implausible. We are restricted from issuing tickets with such a short time-frame between flights. There are specific ticketing rules and guidelines and our systems would not allow for something like this to happen. It is quite possible your flight was delayed which caused the miss-connect, but it was not our ticketing, I am sure this has more to do with Delta airlines than our ticketing.
I would love to have the opportunity to earn back your business and if you private message me we can discuss what we can do.
Thank you again for the feedback and I hope to see you again in our office.
Regards,
Kevin and the entire Davisville Travel team. - Woody F.Winters, CA9542Jul 13, 2018
I called for advice about obtaining a visa. I was treated like I was wasting her time. I doubt I'll call back to spend my travel dollars there. The agent tried to cut me of and refer meelsewhere before I could even explain our problem.

I had a great experience with this travel agency. I needed to make some very last minute, high-end travel arrangements and couldn't be happier with the result. Kathryn Smith was extremely helpful and went above and beyond to make sure my needs were met. The private tour she suggested and scheduled ended up being the highlight of the trip.

I'm planning a trip to Spain and Portugal a year from now. I reached out several times to Michelle B., the Office Manager of Davisville Travel, seemed a little put-off. I dismissed her vibe as a lot of people are void of a phone personality. She is listed as a specialist on Spain. I'm traveling with 3 other adults for a stay of 10-12 days. I sent her the particular details of the trip as to provide a crystal-clear picture of our intensions, our interest and why we were traveling together. The email was directed to her specifically.
I received an email from her employee saying she would assist me because Michelle Bates was swamped with work. The email went on to say, she (the employee) could not give due diligence to the lowest cost because it would be "time consuming". She said Davisville Travel do not use Online Travel Agents (OTA's ie. Expedia) Really, that is why they are considered OVery condescending! I could book through Expedia or any other OTA. I mention that our plans were to book a home during our stay on an island not far from our destination

AAA booked a lovely trip for us for the price of their Roadside membership. Didn't use it because they did not book Ibiza and in-country flights.
We went on the trip to Barcelona, Ibiza and Madrid Spain, Lisbon, Portugal and London UK. I booked the trip myself for 3 ladies flying in at different times. All airlines, accommodations and excursions. Even a private tour of London. One month long trip. see Trip Advisor "Girls Trip" and I used Secret Escapes....best OTA. Booked some hotels direct and the hotels honored the prices online. All four and five star hotels by European standards. Good Luck!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Jul 10, 2018Previous reviewI'm planning a trip to Spain and Portugal a year from now in summer of 2019. I called the office to speak with the employee and had a very disturbing exchange with Michelle Bates who answered the phone:
I received an email reply from Michelle's employee saying she would assist me because Michelle Bates was swamped with work. The email went on to say, she (the employee) could not give due diligence to the best deals because it would be "time consuming". She said Davisville Travel do not use Online Travel Agents (OTA's ie. Expedia) Really, that is why they are considered OTAs. I could book a trip using an OTA myself, however I wanted an experienced specialist on Spain with a human touch. Very condescending and assumptions made about my knowledge of the industry. I could book through Expedia or any other OTA if that is what I wanted. In my email, I mentioned our plans were to book a home on VRBO during our stay on an island not far from our main destination. Instead of inquiring with me for clarity and understanding Michelle Bates became curt, animated in her vocal tone and immaturely condescending. I asked why did she want to charge me a fee for service ($50.00 - $150.00) and she said "all Tavel Agents charge fees", wait what????....When I corrected her and ask would there be a refund upon return if the trip is booked with Davisville Travel that is when Michelle Bates became antagonistic. Very immature and malicious. I disconnect from the conversation directly. I do not spend "My Money" where I'm treated indifferent. Unprofessional. The employee she was going to have us work with, knew NOTHING about Spain or Portugal. THANKS BUT NO THANKS!!
TRAVELER BEWARE!!! The reviews tells the whole story. Next time I will check Yelp FIRST!!
To the "Business Owner": DO NOT bother to tell me "You've been meaning to...." passively attacking your potential customers is why your Office Managers' conduct is the same, unacceptable!!Really, a 91 year old lady and potential customer. Shame on Davisville Travel!!! - Kevin C.Wooster, OH12Mar 5, 2018
I recently booked a trip thru Davisville Travel with Michele Bates. While on the runway sitting on the plane to depart for Vegas the airport shut down due to bad weather. We were flying Spirit and it was impossible to get an answer from them when our flight would be re-scheduled. It took literally 16 hrs to get thru to Spirit and be able to speak with someone about our flight. Our flight ended up being cancelled with nothing else available until two days later. My wife and I were at a loss as to what we were going to do, as we had not purchased any insurance for our trip. We could have literally been out $2000 with no fault of our own because of bad weather. We contacted Michelle and she went above and beyond what anyone could ask. She was able to get everything refunded and re-scheduled our entire trip for the next month. My wife and I were ecstatic. Michelle is someone who regards her position as more than just a job, she really cares about who she is working with. In today's day and age that is breath of fresh air! Choose Davisville Travel and Michelle for your next trip and you will not be disappointed.
