I really wanted to go to Gurnick; but they're admissions staff Mrs. Godinez and Mr. Ochoa talk down on you like your dumb and only offer help in programs they have space in versus the program you're actually interested in. I give them pertinent information in regards to requirements for admission and we go over it and they nod their heads and seemingly agree in unison; yet the next day they're asking me the same thing again; just in a different way.

When you tell them BSN is the path you want to go, they attempt to cross-sell you into an LVN program lacking students with open space available beginning the following week; telling you BSN is too intense. I just can't help but think; that these two are salesmen of sorts; selling $38k annual LVN programs gunning for filling empty class space and not generally interested in helping you with your desired career path.

I'm Hispanic and have seen other posts on here talking racism. I didn't feel that way, but I definitely felt Mr. Ochoa and Mrs. Godinez thought they were better than me, and as soon as I told them I was Hispanic (I look white); I felt like their connotations, tones, grammar, and verbiage changed as to try and adapt to what they think I think, know, or understand.

I am fortunate to be a part of the second class to graduate from the nursing program. I did a lot of research on schools. This was my second school after leaving my first school. Every school, not just nursing schools, comes with its own problems. With that being said.
Pros - Dr. Celine hands down is the best instructor the campus will ever have, and I had the pleasure of having. She literally goes above and beyond anything you would expect from an instructor. She will forever be one of the reasons I am an amazing nurse.
Dr. Sipes is another instructor that I have had the pleasure of getting to know (despite students calling her racist). Without a doubt, I can say I'm one of her favorite students (I'm a brownie, by the way)! She is a wonderful human being and actually loves teaching and has more than you know to offer students.
Juanito! He's definitely a great instructor.
Ms. Anna Fletcher came at the end, and I wish I had her all year long! The abundance of knowledge as my clinical instructor was amazing! Couldn't have asked for anyone better to end my clinical experience!
Cons - AC is definitely the worst instructor the campus could have and is not a good look. She is ALWAYS late to clinicals. Very unprofessional, and her attitude stinks! And she never knows what she is talking about in the class that she teaches. I can't trust an instructor who tells me that dystolic pressure of 190 is ok!
Handling of student and staff issues can definitely use some work.
Communication between students and faculty needs to get way better.
I have already told everyone to come check out my school because i actually believe in the school. I am as prepared as I could be for the NCLEX.

I am a student in the nursing program.
The Pros- They have some great instructors, Dr. Celine, Mr. Juan and Dr. Sipes are amazing teachers. Dr. Sipes makes it easy to understand the material and responds to questions and emails quickly. She is passionate and you can tell she really cares for the students and wants to help. She also always has chocolate!!! Ms. Tabitha cares for the students and does a good job but is disorganized.
      The Cons-
The school does not have enough instructors. The teachers are thrown in to teach classes they are not prepared for.
Ms. Asya should not be teaching. I would try to switch my class if you have her. She clearly doesn't have the experience of the other teachers and she has taught us the wrong things on several occasions.
Now Ms. Anne... She is supposed to work with our clinical stuff, but she is more involved in getting into everyone's business. She is the schools gossip express. She thinks everyone likes her and tries to be everyone's friend so she can get into everyone's business. Avoid her at all costs and do not go to her with your problems or concerns. She is dishonest, malicious, derogatory and belittling.
The admissions department tells you that you can work full time, but you can't. The students and teachers will tell you that once they get your money and you get started. Don't plan on working full time.
After talking with many students from different schools, I feel Gurnick has prepared me for the future as a nurse, and it seems like all the schools have their own problems. That being said, I would recommend the school with a warning that they all seem to have challenges.

Overall, the school has been OK there have been some inconsistencies and picking and choosing students they like, and that they don't. But there is one instructor (Dr Sipes) that is not only clearly racist, but also unbelievably arrogant and condescending. She also spends more time, talking about herself and her degree than she does actually educating students. So, unless you are white and want to fluff up her ego, you will not get a fair shake in Dr Sipes class.

There have been so many student complaints about Dr Sipes yet nothing happens. She alone was enough to make me question staying at the program. Sitting through her classes was like watching a narcissist perform daily. I don't understand why they allow her to continue to interact with students. so I would think twice about going to the school or at least when you apply request that she not teach. Dr Sipes reputation is so bad that she even had to go into other classes to explain to students that she isn't really a racist. If you have to go and use that sentence, you are in fact a racist.

Do better Gurnick, with the amount of tuition being paid students deserve top notch educators.

I'll do you all a favor by saying RUN. RUN as far as you can from this school if you want to keep your sanity, your financial stability, and your health in check. From the beginning at the first interview I should have walked away. The program directors were belittling, demeaning, and insulting for the FIRST interview to get into the program. I didn't trust my intuition and instead spent 1.5 years in mental anguish at this school. They were unsupportive from start to finish. The clinical program was disorganized and the clinical sites where they send you to include clinical instructors that are uneducated, rude, disrespectful, and racist. After complaining several times to the directors at the program my concerns went unnoticed. The harassment and mistreatment I received from this school drove me to a mental breakdown and I had to receive therapy and drop out. I am now $50,000 in debt and to top it off they called and told me I also owe $5,000 for dropping out of the program. I am now sent to collections. If I can do anything in life it's to warn one of you to choose a different school. Save yourself. Message me if you need proof or have questions.

I am finishing the nursing program. The administration is ok and yes the school has some issues, but overall I feel the school is preparing me for the NCLEX. I have had two of the most amazing professors, Dr. Celine and Dr. Sipes. Both of these professors go above and beyond any other instructors. Dr. Sipes really helped me and was so passionate about mental health. Dr. Celine really cares about us and our success. The organization of clinicals could be better and we need better places to go. Overall Gurnick was a good choice for preparing me to be a nurse.

I have been trying to apply to this school for the cardiac ultrasound program and left messages for the past 2 weeks. No one has called me back. I'm starting to think a different school might be the better option. I had multiple coworkers who went to the program and had no issues.

I am a second year radiology student. I will be graduating in about 6 months or so! This program has been life changing for me. There is a lot of material covered, and you really need to stay on track. Be prepared to have no life for two years! It is 100% worth it. :-) My clinical rotations have been great! I have been placed close to my home almost every time. I think the furthest I've been from home is about 45 minutes. Which isn't bad at all! Be willing to be flexible, and ready for anything. It will be worth it! This is hard work!

The instructors are MORE than helpful! If we ever need any help they are only a text or call away. For me, there has been a lot of positive encouragement. Although we are working through Covid-19 and being off campus for the moment our instructors still try to be engaged with us to keep our schooling somewhat normal while keeping us safe!

We are so close to taking our final exam, and I am nervous but I know our instructors will ensure we have all the materials and guidance to get us through it all! They won't leave us to be on our own to figure it out alone. If you're able to stick with it, and push through , you can make it through this rewarding program. It has been a lot of fun, and I have met life long friends through the process. I can't wait to finally have my license, and I will forever thank my instructors who have helped me along the way.

Best school for those inspired to be a sonographer and looking to put some hard work in order to do so. Very supportive staff member's especially the professors and director of the program. Jorge makes sure you are on top of your stuff and you are doing what you need in order to succeed. The teachers are always happy to answer any questions you have and they make sure you are fully grasping what you are saying. Every time you ask a question a majority smile and seem really excited and love to answer them. If at anytime you feel you are falling behind Jorge insures you get tutoring from him or other professors. I highly recommend as a student of this program, to those looking to be a sonographer to join this program!
